Two long running magazines, Acorn User and Acorn Publisher, are to merge, following Finnybank's recent purchase of AU from Tau Press.
Qercus (a deliberate mispelling of Quercus) is the new name and will be published monthly with alternating content. The January issue (and March, May, and so on) will be familiar to Publisher readers, with emphasis on graphics and DTP. The issues inbetween will concentrate on all the other aspects of RISC OS including programming, music, games, education, and PD. John Cartmell, editor, even wishes to bring back *INFO and requests budding programmers to send in their wares.
Current Acorn User subscribers will receive all 13 issues annually; Acorn Publisher subscribers will receive the bi-monthly graphics issues. Subscribers to both will get their subs extended. Finnybank hope to continue and increase distribution to newsagents.
Subscription prices (valid through December)
Qercus - graphics & design (6 issues annually + 1 review issue free) 29.95 [Europe 38.84; World 41.15]
Qercus - the whole picture for RISC OS users (13 issues annually) 45.95 [Europe 55.05; World 66.75]

As they've all been well covered, in a far more timely fashion "elsewhere". And shouldn't the headline have been "Qercy.." ? |

As they've all been well covered This is true. But you'd only complain that the front page hadn't been updated otherwise. Back to your cave, Mr Troll. And shouldn't the headline have been "Qercy.." ? Probably. Oh wait, now look - it is! Magic. :) |

Well if you hadn't mentioned this news then I would have (in fact I had it all prepared before I noticed you'd beaten me to it, grrr!) ;-) Cheers! |

I'm sure I had a new batch of stuff ready for *INFO, but it finished before I had chance to send it in... Time to dig out my A3010 I think. |

Killer. The news on *info is very exciting, I might have a go. If they'll take games, anyway. |
