Merry Christmas everybody!

I guess I should listen to the podcast before commenting on it - I don't know what I've been edited to say yet! :P

Just listened to the podcast MP3 file for the first time. Good stuff, except I can hardly understand what Paul Middleton is saying due to the audio quality. Suspect he was interviewed on the 'phone. If so, as an ex-BBC engineer, may I say that there seems to be something wrong with the telephone pick-up system. It may need a properly engineered connection to the phone using an isolating transformer, and maybe a pre-amp with equalisation to improve the frequency response.

The phone call was made using Skype, and the recording is, I think, an accurate representation of it. I think it proves that Skype isn't very good. ;)

I have a VoIP phone plugged into my broadband router and the audio quality is way better than that of the interview. Maybe Skype uses, or used in this case, a very low bitrate.

December 29th, more like. (In the UK, anyway). Besides, XEmacs is the clear winner.

Couldnt you invest in some better mic's, if not at least stay at the same distance from it, one moment its loud the next its quiet.
