I will try and make this clear :

Ensure you have a StrongARM! The emulator will run on less, but really not recommended.

Ensure you have enough RAM allocated -> around 12MB *should* work, I just allocate around 28MB so I really can't remember what it needs... To do this click on the Acorn/RISC OS 4 logo at the bottom right of the screen. This will open the Task Manager. Drag the Next slot to the required amount, then close the window.

Select the directory with Snes9x in as your current working directory. On RISC OS 4 you can just press MENU and choose 'Set Working Directory'. Otherwise you can press F12 and work your way through the directory hierachy by typing
dir <path> for example :
dir Emulators.SNES.Snes9x
Alternatively you can create a file in !Edit or !Zap with the line :
dir <Obey$Dir>
Save this file with the name !SetDir or summink in the same dir as Snes9x and set the type (MENU button -> Set type) to Obey. Then double click on it.

To run the emulator... press F12. This takes you to the command line. Then type :
snes9x <rom name>
eg. snes9x mario/smc

I think that covers it... alternatively you can wait patiently for me to upload Andrew Hill's frontend along with a new build of the emulator.

Any further probs just ask.

The roms don't need a type. As by default you can't just double click and run Snes9x as each game really needs special settings...
I can't remember what I use for test off hand and I'm not at home so I can't check...
Just make sure the roms are not zipped and all should work happily, well it does for me ;-)

Snes9x says this ?
You should just be running the emulator with the line :
snes9x mario
I'm fairly sure that that message will not be spewed by the emulator -> it's not that kind ;-)
Tell me exactly what you are doing to run the emulator - specifically what you typed in - as I can't really help without knowing what you are doing.
