Indeed. I'm sure I was thinking about something flashback-related recently, but can't remember what it is now :|

Wasn't that just the flight trainer? That's all I've got.

I remember in the AU awards one year, someone nominated Karma as the best "non-game" :)

Yes but that's what I mean. I'd like to buy it as the manual on the AU CD is in Impression format so I need a paper manual. As things stand I just see stars whizzing everywhere.

I've begun to be suspicious about the 'flight-trainer' line and I wonder if a full version would really have been released. It's a sensitive issue as the co-author died but it seemed such a massive idea.

To be honest, I found the flight trainer a bit boring. The whole karma universe is a great idea, but i'd have preferred to see more of the interaction and human aspects than all that mucking about in hyperspace. But then I found elite dull!

No.

There was a website at www.argonet.co.uk/users/inspire/karma/karma.html but it's gone now.

I was more worried about the tutorial missions - trying to find the right satellite to talk to is bl**dy hard!

You know, I've got an original boxed version of Karma, with the release notes, proper manual, keystrip, the lot. It's jolly nice :-) I managed to find some satellites and I even found the hopper once, but you're right, it's not a terribly exciting game. As I recall, the man who died in the motorcycle accident was the main driving force behind the project, and without him around, nobody was really inclined to continue.

I wonder whether the rumoured remake will surface. The HUD in the screenshot suggests it might be more than just a mock-up.

So long as they don't screw it up the way they changed isometric third-person Syndicate (which I played on my A5000) into some generic, stupid first-person shooter when they remade that.
